Fakebooks - Lead Sheets - Sheet Music
Check out Scott’s sheet music collections (what musicians call Fake Books). They will show exactly what you need to know music notation-wise and nothing else that might actually get in your way of playing your favorite songs.
What is a fake book you ask?
A fake book is simply a collection of lead sheets.
A lead sheet is a particular type of music notation where the left hand part is represented by chord symbols (opposed to traditional sheet notation where the bass clef is used) and the right hand part is shown notated in the treble clef, one note at a time.
All of these fake books contain lyrics and chord diagram charts (to assist you with your left hand part) at the top of each page, which is what makes them a great choice for your FIRST fake book. Simply click on the image of the product to see a detailed description as well as a complete listing of the songs included in the fake book.
