Description of “The Anchorage” Beach Home
The perfect vacation spot to drop your anchor!
Just steps (less than one football field) to the powdery, white, beach located directly across the road through a private, tropical beach entrance. You’ll be sure to find a perfect balance of relaxation and fun in the sun here on our mid-island location on Fort Myers Beach, Florida!
Our lovely beach home is a duplex. We refer to the two sides as “Sunrise and Sunset” which together comprise “The Anchorage.” At this time, we rent out both sides together only. Our beach home boasts tasteful, tropical, airy furnishings. Relax on the lanai, dine under the large umbrella-ed deck or take a cool shower in your own private, outdoor shower. Our brand new swimming pool is great for sunning, a game of volley ball, basketball or relaxing with a cold drink on one of the submerged pools stools. Just steps to the beach for some of the best shelling in the country, midnight star gazing and awesome sunset celebrations all at half the cost of staying beachfront. We have a beach cart to carry your treasures (kids, coolers, towels, chairs, etc) to the beach effortlessly.
Here’s the basic layout of our beach home:
Right Side (Sunset)
You can enter the right side of the house (Sunset) through the screened lanai. There are two bedrooms on the ground level floor. Each has a separate outdoor entrance as well as being connected to each other through a door that can be left locked for privacy or open for company. Each of these bedrooms has its own bathroom, living area consisting of chair, couch and TV as well as an outdoor porch with chairs. One of these bedrooms (queen bed) has a half bathroom and the other (queen bed) has a full bathroom, laundry facility as well as a kitchenette. The private, outdoor shower can be accessed through the hallway the leads to these bedrooms and upstairs.
Upstairs you will you find the family room, kitchen, 2 decks, full sized laundry facilities, 2 bedroom (1 king and 1 queen), full bathroom and bar area with stools and dining area. Both decks are outfitted with tables and chairs.
Left Side (Sunrise)
The left side of the house (Sunrise) has a separate, private entrance. It contains a small deck with table and chairs, family room, full bathroom, bedroom (king bed) loaded kitchen, bar area with stools and dining area.
Our kitchens have everything you need and more:
refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, stove/oven, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, silverware and dinnerware and all the gadgets you will need whenever you are cooking in.
So, to sum up the whole house,

No matter where you stay in our beach home we provide enough laundry, bath and dishwashing soap, paper towels and toilet paper to get you started. Since a full-sized grocery store is just right down the street you always have what you need.
Of course plenty of bath towels, fluffy pillows and bed linens are also always at hand in our lovely beach home.
Additional amenities include free local and long distance phone calls, free high speed wireless internet access, central air conditioning and heating, hairdryers, soaps, and bed and bath linens.

Activities:
The Anchorage is located on Estero Island, a seven-mile stretch of ocean- front which is filled with shopping, dining and entertainment. You can enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, volleyball pits, live music, eats and drinks all within walking distance.
Right down the street you will find nice recreational facilities including tennis courts, basketball, and a large pool and water park featuring water slides and lifeguards for the kids. For the adults there are 3 Olympic sized swim lanes!
My favorite beach activities are biking and running along the ocean while watching and listening to the dolphins splash beside you! Our daughter still loves blowing bubbles and the all-time favorite activity of flying a kite up and down the beach.
The Anchorage is located mid-island which provides a quiet, private, tropical beach experience, but is still close enough to Times Square (entertainment district) for the times when you want to take a walk on the “wilder side.” Here at the Anchorage, you will be sure to find a perfect balance of relaxation and fun in the sun! The Anchorage is only a 2 min. drive from a Grocery store (approx. ½ mile.) A pharmacy, movie theater and medical Center are also close.( Since the SW Regional International Airport (RSW) is only about a 25-30 minute drive (19 miles) with available taxi, shuttle and limousine services readily available, transportation is never a problem.
This is an awesome location on the island – a beautiful section of pristine, sandy beach, wonderful shelling, and a wide variety of water sports are available, including jet skiing, sailing, snorkeling, parasailing, wind surfing, swimming, fishing, and boating. “Non-beachy” favorites include catching a movie at the theatre, putt-putting, shopping at Time Square on the island or upscale shopping at Coconut Point. There is also a world-class golfing nearby and at the south end of the island is Lovers Key State Park, voted one of the top ten beaches of the America's!
For those non-beach days, there is Tin City and Caribbean Gardens in Naples, Naples Zoo, Naples Pier, the Ford and Edison historic homes in Fort Myers, live theater, the Shell Factory, Shell Museum on Sanibel, shelling on the beach on Sanibel, Sun-splash Water Park, Casino boat, Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins baseball spring training, mini-golf, amusement parks, the Fort Myers Beach Community Pool with slides, a fabulous local library, Imaginarium Children’s Museum, the Calusa Nature Preserve,
Sanibel Island is only 15 minutes and Lovers Key Park (one of America's 10 best beaches) 10 minutes to the south. Captiva is about a 30 minute drive. Driving times to major cities include: Fort Myers, Bonita Springs (15 minutes); Naples (30 minutes); Miami and Tampa (two hours); and Orlando, Disney World, Universal Studios, and Cape Canaveral (approximately three hours).
Excursions to the Everglades National Park and Key West available including airboat and swamp buggy rides, and high speed catamaran service, respectively. A world-class sailing school, great restaurants and bars with nightly live entertainment are right down the street!

Add 11% FL taxes and $300 cleaning fee to rental rates.Totally Refundable $500 Security/Damage Deposit required with all reservations. We are pleased to say that we have never had to keep damage money as all our renters have taken great care of our beach home!
Prepayment 20% of the total reservation amount or $500, whichever is greater due at the time the reservation is made. This fee will be applied against your total rental fee and locks in your rate and reservation.
